PASIGHAT, Jul 13: Secretary for Urban Development, Town Planning and ULB, Mitali Namchoom along with the Director Town Planning and ULB, Likha Suraj visited Pasighat on July 12 and took stock of various projects under Pasighat Smart City Projects like proposed office building at Gumin Nagar, drainage works of the township, market area up-gradation site, centenary park, newly installed state of art bus stops and trunk drainage work at APP colony etc.
A review meeting was convened by the DC-cum-Municipal Executive Officer (PMC) Dr. Kinny Singh which was attended by the Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong, visiting Secretary Mitali Namchoom, Director Likha Suraj, CEO Pasighat Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) Wayong Khimyun, Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, Deputy Chief Councillor Rebeka Megu and officers of PMC, Pasighat Smart City and Urban development & Housing departments. 
Presentation depicting status update on Pasighat Smart City Mission, Finance Commission Grants to Urban Local Bodies, Flagship programme such as SBM, DAY-NULM and PMAY was presented by the concerned implementing agencies.
Local MLA-cum-Adviser to Minister to Urban Development, Town Planning & Municipal Affairs, Kaling Moyong stated that more of such visits should be planned as it encourages and boost the morale of the staff posted in the district and common citizens as a whole while aligning them to right direction to work towards achievement of time bound projects.
Secretary Namchoom stressed on future projects proposals of urban stakeholder agencies should necessarily be accompanied by documents on land availability certified by District Administration for necessary approval. On the issue of Pasighat Smart City projects, she stated that any physical infrastructure projects should incorporate the elements that reflect local traditional and cultural values including the upcoming ‘Welcome Gate’ project.

While apprising the grievances of Pasighat, the DC-cum-Municipal Executive Officer Dr. Kinny Singh urged upon the visiting Secretary to provide enough sanitation labourer posts to ensure that sanitation of the city is maintained at all time. She also briefed the Secretary about the challenges and the reasons for inordinate delays in implementation of Smart City projects due to not delegating enough financial power to the SPV.
Director Likha Suraj assured to release grants due to Pasighat Municipal Council under Fourteenth Finance Commission. DIPRO
