PASIGHAT, Apr 11: Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu will flag off Dornier (DO-228) fixed wing flight at Pasighat on Tuesday in presence of the Union Law and & Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju, East Arunachal Loksabha MP Tapir Gao, MLAs of East Siang district and others.
Pasighat East MLA, Kaling Moyong asserted that enhanced connectivity in the North-eastern region would help bolster tourism, making air travel affordable and accessible to all and contribute to the economic development in the state.
Elaborating the launch of new flights, Alliance Air Coordinator (East), Kolkata, Chirasree Sanyal who arrived here on Saturday last by a same proving-flight informed that with the vision of Connecting New India, it was their endeavor to offer better air connectivity between tier-2 & tier-3 towns with their closest city hubs. Keeping with this endeavor, Alliance Air was expanding connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh with the first ever made-in-India aircraft from HAL–The Dornier 228. The maiden route linking Dibrugarh with Pasighat and Lilabari would operate twice every week from April 18 next. It is a 17-seater non-pressurized flight equipped with an air-conditioned cabin, lavatory and capability of flying both day and night operations, Sanyal added.
