ITANAGAR, Feb 24: As part of the week-long programme honouring science “Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate”, a series of lectures on various topics were held at the Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre here today.
Delivering a talk on “Milestones in Bio-medical Research in India”, Dr K Rekha Devi, Scientist from ICMR-RMRC NE, Dibrugarh spoke in detail about the contributions of biomedical research in India and highlighted the achievements of the Indian Council of Medical Research. Another speaker Dr. Basavaraj Mathapati, Scientist from ICMR-National Institute of Virology delivered a talk on “Milestones in Medical Virology in India” which covered the major events in science virology in India and highlighted the efforts and achievements of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the prevention and control of viral diseases in humans. The talks were followed by a magic show, ‘Science activities on demystifying the miracle’ to help students understand the science behind magic.
The program was attended by more than 200 students from various schools and nursing colleges from across the state and senior officials from Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology. Various government organizations participated in the book fair showcasing their publications.
