ITANAGAR, NOV 17: Offline classes for X and XII in Secondary and Higher Secondary schools across the state resumed on Monday in view of the ensuing CBSE examination and as announced by the state government recently. 
"The CBSE will conduct the board examination as per their schedule and we have to ensure that students are prepared so that they do not face problems while appearing in the exams," Education Minister Taba Tedir said recently . 
Tedir also hinted that if students of both classes had no problems while attending their regular classes then there is a possibility that other classes may follow suit. 
“Schools have been asked to provide face mask to students and fund has been allotted for the installation of sanitization and handwashing systems in the premises of all the schools having classes X & XII," Tedir said. 
The minister said that respective district administrations have been directed through  video conferencing to regularly monitor and liaise with those schools who have decided to resume offline classes to ensure healthy environment around the school premises. 
"District medical authorities and all PHCs/CHCs have been asked to make necessary arrangements in case of any emergency," Tedir said adding that Deputy Director of School Education (DDSEs) have been instructed to issue necessary direction to all schools to have an emergency room to attend to urgent cases if any and to remain in contact with the nearest health facility in their respective areas. 
Tedir also clarified that reopening of schools was taken after series of meeting through videoconferencing with all district administrations, community based organizations (CBOs) and taking note of district-level meeting resolution adopted by school management committees in respective districts. 
Earlier schools authorities were asked to issue consent letter to parents to be filled before sending their ward to attend classes and also awareness on Covid-19 was also given to them all at various points of time. 
Meanwhile, almost all the safety measures as directed under SOPs were strictly maintained by school authorities and teaching fraternity was seen taking classes adhering to laid down COVID-19 norms when this reporter visited various schools to take a glimpse of ground realities. 
Thermal screening devices were seen installed at the main gates of schools and students were seen standing in long queues to submit the consent letters signed by parents before entering the school campus.
Teachers were also seen asking the students to maintain physical distancing norms and maintain hygiene and sanitization. 
"We are happy to be finally attending school and interacting face to face with the teachers. Though we attend our classes online, the experience was really bad due to weak internet connectivity," few students said.
