Chowkham, Feb 17: SBI Chowkham branch, Arunachal Pradesh sanctioned loans to15 Self Help Groups (SHGs) under State Rural Livelihood Mission(SRLM) today with an aggregate of Rs. 21.90 lakhs in the presence of Bikash Basumatary, Regional Manager, SBI, Tinsukia region.
SHG's play a vital role in giving credit access to the poor and this is extremely crucial in poverty alleviation especially in rural areas. They also play a great role in empowering women because SHG's help women from economically weaker section build social capital, Basumatary said.
