MECHUKHA, Jan 23: Sarkar Aapke Dwar was conducted at Lhalung village, a border village south of McMahon Line under Mechuka Circle which was inaugurated by Shi Yomi Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi today.
The Indian Army, Jakli Regiment had built a school building under Operation Samaritans in the village and all line departments including the major constructing agencies like PWD, RWD, WRD, PHED, Hydropower etc participated. There was overwhelming response from villagers who turned up in large numbers despite inclement weather in this cold region. The main concern of the residents was water storage in the village which had gone dry and irregular supply of essential commodities including that of free rice under PMGKAY.
The EE Hydropower also visited the ongoing 300KW Sirikorong Hydel Phase II which is close to the village and which is one of the main generator and provider of electricity in Mechuka. DIPRO
