ITANAGAR, May 12: Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), Mayor Tame Phassang on Wednesday visited different areas of Itanagar capital region (ICR) to oversee sanitization activities carried out by the corporation workers.
The sanitization was especially carried out in Covid prone areas like, containment zones, banks, hospitals, shops and other institutions.
Speaking to the reporters, Phassang said that sanitization was executed in the containment areas of Itanagar along with various other locations. He said that the sanitization was also to minimize other seasonal diseases too.
“Sanitization is a compulsory move to fight against the Covid pandemic and other diseases. Therefore, the department is making all efforts to cover up every nook and corner to sanitize,” he said.
Phassang also informed that the Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) are very much concerned over the surge in Covid cases in the state. Therefore, they requested the IMC to sanitize entire containment zones as well as other prone areas, he added.
He also appealed the public as well as the state media fraternity to inform the department if any area is left out with sanitization.
“Our team is monitoring the entire area of ICR during the sanitization. The public may inform their concerned Corporator regarding any sanitization work,” he said.
