Lumla, Aug 24: Lumla MLA Jambey Tashi inaugurated the 30 days Sanitary Napkin making training at old Lumla. Sponsored by BADP 30 women training are being trained under skill development and capacity building training programme.
"The dream of a vibrant and robust society cannot be materialised without according dignity to the feminine section. Working in line with the central government's slogan 'Nari tu hi Narayani' to commend the tremendous contribution of the womenfolk, the state government has rolled out multiple schemes for their empowerment and upliftment", he informed.
The government through its skill development agency is untiringly engaged in generating sustainable economic generation and sustainable livelihood by imparting trainings on distinct trades, he added.
"These cheap and hygienic sanitary napkins will prove revolutionary for the females as the napkins available in the market are embedded with dreadful chemicals likely to cause health hazards", he said.
Earlier, Tawang ADI Tsering Drema thanked the Lumla MLA for procurement of the machines via BADP scheme. The DDI incharge also urged the trainees to promulgate the benefits of learning new trades amongst the unemployed section of society.
Later, Jambey paid a visit to government higher secondary school Lumla. He interacted with the teachers and students and garnered first hand information of their encumbrances. While egging them to work hard to excel in the academics, he also exhorted them to stay in the school hostels for better performance.
Thereon, the Lumla lawmaker inspected the ongoing construction of school field. He also discussed and took note of various infrastructural needs of the institution.
