PASIGHAT, Aug 8:  The Government Higher Secondary School, Ruksin (East Siang) has been selected as the Chief Minister’s ‘Best Performing School’ of the state for academic year 2019-20 as it has 97% result in Class-XII standard with 62 children. Also the infrastructure has been constructed with community participation and the school has been rated A+ by inspection committee on all parameters including attendance of students, discipline, distribution of uniform, academic performance etc. 
Local MLA Ninong Ering congratulated the students and the entire school community for their meritorious performance and bringing accolades to the school adding that it was a matter of pride. He also extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Education Minister Taba Tedir, Education Secretary and Director for their attention towards development of education and motivation. 
In his message to the students in particular, Ering stated that a new feather was added to the crown of the school by exhibiting excellent result in XII board examination and further quoted that “Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another. The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from the achievers."
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh while congratulating the entire school has said that it was a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning process and whatever good we see in our world today is because of an educative mind behind it. She appreciated the hard work the students and teachers.
School principal Tajom Padung expressed his extreme happiness over the achievement and congratulated the students. He stressed on community involvement and extended his thanks to the teachers, parents, alumnus, local administration and leaders as a whole for their effective partnership, motivations and inspiring the students to think out of the box and foresee a better future. Principal Padung also informed that the school was established in 1966 as preprimary, upgraded as middle school in 1978 and in 2009 it was upgraded as Higher Secondary School. Presently the school is fully equipped and well maintained. There are 23 teaching staff including tourism and IT departments. In 2018, initiated by one David Gao (alumnae), Professor of RGU, a massive renovation was carried out by the local community where alumnus, teachers and leaders had generously contributed for renovation and infrastructure development.
