YUPIA, Jul 5:A two day long Awareness on Technology and Conservation of Fish Biodiversity & River Ranching was held from June 28 to 30 last at Pare and Papum Rivers organized by the department of fisheries . About 50,000 fish seeds were also released into the river to mark the occasion.

On the occasion, the DFDO, Yupia requested the gathering to shun blasting, electric fishing and poisoning the waters and urged them to avoid fishing during breeding season that starts from April to September of every year.

He also cautioned that violators will be punished by the as per relevant sections.
