AALO, Jul 15: Union Minister Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju today chaired the virtual meeting of the DISHA/ District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DDCMC), West Siang which was held here from the video conference room of DC’s office.
Rijiju, who is also the Chairman of the District Level DISHA Committee pointed out the delay in implementation of the highway from Aalo to Pangin despite the flow of funds. The Union Law Minister informed that he is aware of the difficulties faced by commuters due to the delay. While recalling that funds for the damaged Ego bridge were managed with the help of agencies last year, Rijiju said he is aware of the untold miseries faced by the people due to the recent collapse of the Sangam Bridge.
Instructing the department officers to review the progress of all the ongoing Central-sponsored schemes, Rjjiju took briefings from the Heads of Offices of the district regarding their progress.
Minister, Industries, Skill Development, etc. Er. Tumke Bagra pointed out the inordinate delay in implementation of the Nigmoi-Pangin highway stretch and expressed unhappiness over the slow progress of Aalo Stadium construction works. Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi, who is the Member Secretary of the District Level DISHA Committee responded to the queries made by the Union Minister relating to various ongoing projects in the district.
