ITANAGAR, Apr 12: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs & Sports, Kiren Rijiju today urged the concerned departments to execute the flagship schemes and other developmental works diligently so that the benefit of each and every scheme reaches the targeted group in a time bound manner.
Rijiju, who is also the MP from Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency and Chairman of the DISHA, was addressing the first quarter meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for East Kameng district which was convened on virtual mode.
"The holistic approach to all round development of a district that includes infrastructural development, road-electricity-water & internet connectivity, Education for All, employment generation and poverty alleviation programs can succeed only through synergy & convergence of all schemes through various departments. The DISHA is a platform where discussion on all developmental issues can be held regularly in order to find ways and means to mitigate the constraints if any and carry forward the developmental goals," he said.
The meeting was attended by all Department Heads of East Kameng.
The departments presented their progress report on major flagship programs like MGNREGS, PMAY (G), Jal Shakti Abhiyan/Jal Jeevan Mission, PMGSY, NFSA, ICDS and PMKSY. The Chairman also sought report on status of Covid-19 Vaccination in the district.
Earlier, the DC cum Member Secretary of DISHA, welcomed the House and presented a brief report on the activities of the District Level Monitoring Committee for 2020-21.
At Yupia, While taking comprehensive review of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) projects implemented by various departments in Papum Pare district, Rijiju expressed satisfaction over progress of works and also requested all HoDs to give a concrete figure of all CSS scheme-wise implemented by their respective departments. He also asked them to make follow up success stories of beneficiaries who have been benefitted through various CSS schemes which help them to generate income and employment to others directly or indirectly. .... The Minister also lauded the Papum Pare District Administration team lead by the Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu for successfully handling the last COVID-19 lockdown-pandemic situation.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu also apprised the Minister about the ongoing projects in the district and highlighted the potential of fisheries development in foothill areas of Papum Pare district and also mentioned the pivotal role played by the fish farmers of the district during last lockdown period.
Meanwhile, Head of Departments like PD DRDA, DAO,DDSE, DF&CSO, EE(RWD), EE(PHE & WS), DMO,DDI,EE(POWER), EE(UD) and DD (ICDS) presented achievement report for the financial year 2020-21 and apprised the minister about their status of physical and financial achievements of Centrally Sponsored Schemes implemented by their departments.
