Yazali, Jun 7: With the target of improving the percentage of COVID-19 vaccination for 45 years and above in Yazali in Lower Subansiri district, Circle Officer Tashi Wangchuk Thongdok has come up with the unique idea of providing 20 kgs of rice to the beneficiaries coming forward voluntarily for vaccination. 
After the announcement on Sunday, 50 of them turned up on Monday to get vaccinated braving heavy rains. A 2016 batch APCS officer, Thongdok has been working relentlessly along with the doctors in improving the vaccination coverage in Yazali Circle. The offer will be valid till Wednesday, he informed. "We will try to work out other strategies also to improve the vaccination coverage. I aspire to achieve 100 % coverage by June 20," he added, while appealing for unified efforts from all stakeholders and cooperation from PRI members in achieving the target.
He expressed gratitude to Taba Nagu of Billo and Lich Birbal of Kuchkut village representing the VKV alumnus of 1990 for donating the rice. DIPRO
