ITANAGAR, Sep 12:
The Rajiv Gandhi University Teacher's Association (RGUTA) has raised grave concern over the present coronavirus situation in the state and requested the Department of Health & Family Welfare to come out with stricter SOPs to contain the spread of the virus.
It also requested the state government to involve NGOs/VOs & Unions to create isolation centers, identify the potential carriers and manage the infected alongside frontline warriors in the fight against COVID-19.
The association also called for booking the people found violating SOPs and laid down social distancing norms under appropriate section of the law and to strictly check the movement of thousands of people every day entering the state capital.
Questioning the accuracy of Rapid Antigen Testing, it said that the Union Health Ministry recently conveyed non-reliability of the RAT in a new advisory, and suggested that those tested negative in RAT tests should be retested again with RT-PCR.
The Association urged the state government to initiate strong steps for the prevention of COVID -19 spread in the state citing community transmission could wipe out the whole race.
