Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
RONO HILLS, Apr 29: Seven students of Rajiv Gandhi University who have been recently appointed as teachers via a single recruitment process initiated by the varsity’s Placement Cell received their appointment letters in a brief ceremony held today here at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat.
The programme was chaired by VC Professor Saket Kushwaha and attended by Pro VC Professor Amitava Mitra, Registrar Dr N. T. Rikam, In-charge of Placement Cell Professor Tasi Kaye and Dr Miazi Hazam from the Department of English. Congratulating the newly appointed teachers who will join the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas, the VC, Pro VC, Registrar, Placement Cell In-charge and Dr Hazam exhorted them to be sincere to the noble profession of teaching. The appointment of its seven students as teachers in a single recruitment process which was also the maiden effort is a major achievement of the varsity’s Placement Cell. It is pertinent to mention that Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas Arunachal Pradesh Trust (VKVAPT) approached RGU for organizing a recruitment drive for teachers and following the request the Placement Cell organized a written test and viva-voce for 49 candidates on March 7 last. The candidates qualifying in the written test were interviewed by experts from VKVAPT overseen by its HR Officer and Education Officer from Dibrugarh.
The seven selected candidates who are from the Departments of Psychology, Education and MCA will now join the VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh as teachers.
