RONO HILLS, Jul 28: Rajiv Gandhi University through a notification has announced that it will conduct its PhD entrance test- RGUPET 2021 for admission to 158 seats spread over 24 departments and institutes offering PhD programmes from August 10-12.
RGU Joint Registrar (Academic) Dr. David Pertin has informed that RGUPET 2021 will be conducted at the RGU centre only due to COVID restrictions. With a duration of three hours, the exam will be held in two sessions everyday wherein 2025 candidates will appear. The morning session will start at 9:30 am and the afternoon one will be held from 1:30 pm. Candidates scoring a minimum of 50% marks in written test shall be shortlisted for interview (viva-voce) in the order of merit in a 3:1 ratio against the vacant seats in the department/institute concerned including the RGUPET-exempted candidates. The viva-voce/interview will be conducted for 100 marks of which 50 marks will cover the synopsis/research plan part and remaining 50 to evaluate the candidate’s research aptitude, other relevant knowledge domain etc.  RGU has advised all examinees to cross-check their admit cards for venue, date and time details and follow Covid-19 protocols.
