RONO HILLS, Oct 6: A national webinar on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was conducted by the NCC unit of Rajiv Gandhi University in collaboration with NCC Group Headquarter, Tezpur and 1APBN, NCC Arunachal Pradesh on October 5 last that coincided with the World Teacher’s Day.
RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha and Pro VC Professor Amitava Mitra appreciated the NEP for aiming to promote all-round development of youths by inculcating values and 21st century skills. Registrar Dr. N.T.Rikam while highlighting the patriotic sentiments of the Northeast people opined that a Regiment in the name of “North-Eastern Regiment/Arunachal Regiment” should be formed for motivating the region’s youths to join the armed forces. Professor Elizabeth Hangsing discussed the new policy in detail and Professor S.K. Yadav from NCERT explained its significance in the context of youth development. Professor Saroj Pandey from the School of Education, IGNOU, New Delhi suggested that RGU in collaboration with the state government should make a plan for implementation of the policy. NCC cadets, officers, staff, teachers and researchers from the state and other parts of the country participated in the webinar through live conversation. RGU PR
