Rono Hills, Aug 22: The 3-day online international conclave titled “Intrinsic and Instrumental Significance of Mahatma Gandhi for a Self-Reliant India” organized by the Department of Social Work, Rajiv Gandhi University in collaboration with Gandhi King Foundation, Hyderabad and Gandhi-King Global Initiative, Stanford University Centre, USA concluded here on Friday.
The conclave witnessed three plenary and four technical sessions where eight overseas and national Gandhian experts spoke and 47 research papers, out of which 24 from academicians, 13 from research scholars and 10 from PG level students were presented. The Gandhian Social Thinker award was bestowed to Professor Niranjan Roy from Assam University. The Gandhian Practice Model Award was jointly presented to Shreya Mitra, Research Scholar, Visva-Bharati and Astha Viyogi, Research Scholar, Lovely Professional University. The Empathetic Gandhian Thinker Award was conferred jointly to Lalramdini Sailo, Research Scholar, Mizoram University and Vijay Kumar, PhD Scholar, RGU.
