ITANAGAR, Apr 10: Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University Professor Saket Kushwaha was in Sylhet, Bangladesh recently to attend the  1st International Convention of  Vice Chancellors where the main purpose was to share the scope of collaboration in teaching, research and innovation between India and Bangladesh. 28 Vice Chancellors from the two countries, including 15 from India attended the convention where various issues of bilateral interest of institutions of higher education of the two nations were discussed. Topics included the issues of internships, faculty & students exchange programmes, enrolment of foreign students, ease of visa and collaborations in research. For RGU in particular, collaboration with its Centre for Biodiversity and the Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies with universities in Bangladesh was agreed upon, for which the RGU would sign relevant MoUs with the partner institutions. 
“What is needed for us is to take forward the deliberations at the convention primarily with a focus on the 5Cs- communication, consensus, collaboration, connectivity and a respect for common goals,” the RGU VC said while elaborating on the significance of the event. The convention was organised by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet under the patronage of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh in association with the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya.
