RONO HILLS, Mar 20: With the aim of making a first-hand assessment of Covid-19 preparedness in Rajiv Gandhi University, its Vice Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha and Registrar Professor Tomo Riba on Friday visited the University Health Centre and interacted with the health officials.
The duo during their interaction with the doctors and staff of the health centre directed them to strictly adhere to the guidelines and assured full cooperation and assistance by the varsity. Senior Medical Officer of the health centre Dr. Akin Tana Tara informed the centre has all necessary emergency items required for handling Covid-19 cases. RGU Joint Registrar Dr. David Pertin informed that keeping in view the current market scarcity for sanitizers, the varsity’s Department of Chemistry is coming up with locally made sanitizers in its laboratory which will be made available for teachers and staff.
Apart from suspending regular classes, workshops/seminars/meetings and vacating hostels, university authority is also ensuring that visitors from the affected regions undergo compulsory Covid-19 screening at the health centre before entering the university. RGU PR
