RONO HILLS, May 20: The Institutional Repository (IR) of the Central Library of Rajiv Gandhi University was virtually inaugurated today by Vice Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha.
Inaugurating the IR, Professor Kushwaha acknowledged the tireless efforts of the small team of Central Library staff under leadership of its I/c Professor P. K. Acharya. “The IR is yet another feather in RGU’s cap which will certainly help in the teaching-learning process and carrying out quality research,” the VC said, requesting the varsity’s faculty members, researchers and students to take its full advantage. He also assured there will be a library consortia so that all affiliated colleges and communities from the Northeast can access the IR. Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor A. Mitra and Registrar Dr N. T. Rikam appreciated the team efforts of the library staff for giving shape to the IR. Former Librarian Dr Maltesh M explained the SOPs of the IR and Professional Assistant Rahul Sarma gave a live demo on how to access it after registration.
The RGU IR is going to be a knowledge bank researchers can rely upon with a rich collection of research articles, conference papers, technical reports and manuals, computer programmes, e-books, newspaper clippings, question banks, convocation addresses, student handbooks, teaching materials etc.
