RONO HILLS, Jul 13: Department of Fine Arts and Music, Rajiv Gandhi University today organized a day-long national webinar on Painting and Sculpture which saw an overwhelming participation by art enthusiasts, both amateurs and professionals from across the country.
Contemporary artists of repute, Professor Pankaj Panwar and Dr. Rajkumar Mazinder along with faculties, researchers, students and art admirers from Guwahati, Silchar, Shilong, Agartala, Santiniketan, Varanasi, Delhi, Chandigarh, etc. participated in the webinar. RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha talked about the unique nature of the courses on fine arts and their special requirements to grow as a healthy discipline.  Principal, Kala Bhavan (Institute of Fine Arts), Visva-Bharati University Professor Pankaj Panwar, also a nationally-awarded contemporary artist, spoke on the topic of ‘Evolution of Sculpture and Contribution of Material’. The natural environment of Arunachal Pradesh can provide abundant resources for environmental sculptures with materials provided by nature, he said. I/c, Department of Visual Arts, Assam University and well-known contemporary artist from the Northeast Dr. Rajkumar Mazindar spoke on 'Creative Journey of a Visual Artist from North East- A Self Assessment'.
