RONO HILLS, Jul 7: The hi-tech Multipurpose Room of the Central Library of Rajiv Gandhi University was inaugurated today by Director, RRRLF and Director General National Library, Kolkata Professor Ajay Pratap Singh.
RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha, Pro VC Professor Amitava Mitra, Registrar i/c and Finance Officer Professor Otem Padung and Registrar Dr. N.T Rikam joined the online inauguration ceremony along with the library staff. Professor Singh delivered a lecture on “Changing role of libraries for academic fraternity in the light of New Education Policy” where he said that the NEP will ensure a holistic approach along with multidisciplinary educational facilities. He assured that there will be a MoU between the RGU and RRRLF to train library professionals for automation and modernization services, working in the public libraries of Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring states in near future through the National Mission on Library (NML).
The VC said that the cutting-edge ICT facilities of the Multipurpose Room and the proposed MoU with RRRLF and National Library Kolkata will further enrich the varsity’s library. I/c of the Central Library Professor P. K. Acharya and the Pro VC also spoke on the occasion. RGU PR
