RONO HILLS, Mar 1: Rajiv Gandhi University has earned the distinction of becoming the only centrally-funded university in the Northeast to get grant-in aid under the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog with the clearance of four of its major projects on Ornamental Fish, Mushroom, Floriculture and Fruit Juice & Beverages by the national funding agency.
As part of taking the Mission ahead, a company under Companies Act, 2013 in the name of Atal Community Innovation Centre RGU (ACICRGU) Foundation has been established by now, with its date of incorporation being February 3, 2021. RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha and Registrar Dr. Nabam Tadar Rikam are the first Directors of the Board of Directors of the newly formed company. The first meeting of the Board of Directors of ACICRGU Foundation was held today here at the varsity which was attended by the two Directors along with Pro VC Professor Amitava Mitra, Finance Officer Professor Otem Padung, Joint Registrar Dr. David Pertin and Professor D.N. Das from the Zoology Department as special invitees.
Placing the statement showing the preliminary expenses incurred towards formation of the company, Professor Kushwaha informed the board members about timely filing of various relevant forms and e-forms under Companies Act, 2013 through the portal of the concerned Ministry and appreciated the initiative taken by Professor Das and other officials of the varsity for establishing the company. It’s a historic day as RGU is now in the country's map of registered companies, the Pro VC said. The Registrar termed it as a landmark achievement by RGU.
Joint Registrar also informed about the Agreement of Rent signed between RGU Registrar and Director of ACICRGU Foundation on February 25, 2021 which will allow the company to function from the varsity premises itself.

He further informed that the company will provide financial assistance and impart requisite training to the budding entrepreneurs of the state in Start-up ventures. RGU PR
