Rono Hills, Jul 8: The three-day online training programme titled ‘Online Capacity Building of Teaching Staff on Development of Online Courses’ organized by the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi University concluded here on Wednesday.
CEMCA Director, Professor Madhu Parhar while speaking at the valedictory session said that RGU is the first dual-mode university from across the nations to initiate the Capacity Building Training for teachers.
RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha while explaining the increasing relevance of online learning, reiterated RGU’s commitment to take all necessary steps to adapt to the new normal and suggested that RGU and CEMCA should jointly start relevant courses to facilitate new teaching-learning methodologies. Director, IDE, RGU Professor Ashan Riddi and SPO, CEMCA Dr. Manas Ranjan Parhi also spoke on the occasion.
The programme which was specially curated for the teachers from North East had 317 applicants out of which 100 were selected who were given intensive synchronised and asynchronised training along with assignments and tasks. Dr. Nisha Singh from the Centre for Online Education, IGNOU was the Resource Person on the concluding day and Faculty at IDE, RGU Moyir Riba was the Coordinator.
