ITANAGAR, Jun 29: Assuring that the BJP Government across India is a welfare and inclusive government working for welfare and betterment of every section of society and Arunachal Pradesh is no exception, State BJP President Tapir Gao asserted that the government cares for its employees as well as for the rest of the people and all section of society shall be taken care while devising plans and programmes.

Clarifying the party’s stand on the matter of extension of retirement age of regular state government employees from 58 to 60 years, Gao said, “The matter was under consideration by the government for past many months as one section of the employees were already retiring at the age of 60. As there cannot be two rules for the employees of the same government, the state government was duty bound to extend the retirement age from 58 to 60 for all its employees.”

Responding to the hue and cry amongst the youths over the decision, Gao said, “The concern is genuine but not a fact altogether. There would not be complete halt in creation of vacancies thereby curtailing their right to employment for two years.”

The BJP government in the state assures that there won’t be complete blockade on opportunities for employment of educated youths, he added. The Party further clarified that the government has taken a time period of 6 months – from 1st July to 31stDecember 2017 – to study and develop a mechanism to resolve the issue of employment opportunities to be affected by the extension of retirement age.

“It is clarified that the state government is undertaking an exercise to collect data of available vacancies and posts needed from all the districts and other levels and then compile a list for creation of additional posts. These posts will be filled up from amongst the educated youths,” said Gao while justifying the time lag of six months needed for the BJP government to do a scientific job of assessing the current employment situation and creating a blue-print for employment roadmap in next 5-10 years.

In other words, there will not be a year when there will not be any recruitment. BJP as a party and the government will not let the youths be deprived of employment opportunity in the government. Enough vacancies will be created every year for fresh recruitment, release stated.

“After two years when the regular employees start retiring at the age of 60, the system will come back to normalcy and posts and vacancies will be available for recruitment as in the past,” Gao assured.
