AALO, Jul 9:Kabu, one of the biggest villages in the district conducted massive social service stretching a length of 4km along the highway from Cozy Breeze to Kabu village on July 8 last. The senior citizens, women and youths of the village were involved in the social service as a part of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and cleaned up debris along the road using tractors and trucks to dispose of the garbage thrown on the road sides. 

Later, the villagers congregated at Kabu Dere to generate awareness on cleanliness among people. The meeting also adopted far reaching resolutions on imposition of fine among defaulters of cleanliness norms, restrict trouble makers on roadside and ban on loitering of boys and girls 
on the road and riverside that create nuisances like throwing of beer bottles and plastics. The meeting fixed different rate of fines on littering in streets, open defecation and non provision of septic tank, breaking of bottles and defacement of properties ranging from 
Rs. 1000- 5000 depending on gravity of offences.
