MECHUKHA, Oct 4: The Sub-divisional Library, Mechukha was on Sunday made open to the public and students of Shi Yomi District by Speaker APLA Pasang D Sona, today in presence of Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi, SP G.Dajangju and all HoDs of Shi Yomi District.
The Sub-Divisional Library which was laying defunct got a massive renovation and facelift recently. New volumes of books which were also procured and added to the book stock of the library.
Speaking on the occasion , the Speaker said that it should not only cater to the needs of book readers of the district but a library class for each standard should also be incorporated into the school routine of the schools nearby. He further informed that in due course of time the library would also be benefitted by donations from Raja Ram Mohan Roy Book Trust and contributions of NGOs active in the field in other parts of the state like Bamboosa etc.
Meanwhile, the Speaker also attended a coordination meeting of HoDs at ADC's office which was chaired by the DC. 
The Speaker took stock of the progress of various projects/schemes undergoing at Shi-Yomi District and asked all HoDs to expedite all the development projects on priority basis.  The Speaker and DC also took serious note of the absenteeism of HoDs from place of posting. Speaker's PR Cell
