Mein commits 50 lakh from state govt’s end for procurement of CGI sheets

KHONSA, Mar 19: Minister, PHE&WS and DoTCL etc. Wangki Lowang today visited the victims and bereaved family members of the fire tragedy which occurred in Longliang village on Thursday.
The Minister was accompanied by 55-Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, 56-Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh, DC Tirap Taro Mize, SP Kardak Riba, ZPC Tirap Chathong Lowang, HoDs, ZPMs and various NGOs. State government would provide necessary relief assistance to the fire victims and to the family members of the deceased as per the assessment made by the District Administration, the Minister announced while handing over Rs 1 lakh each to the family members of the two deceased villagers on behalf of the Chief Minister. Furthermore, the Minister and the two MLAs have also individually contributed Rs 1 lakh each which will be distributed by the I/c EAC. Lazu. Responding to a public memorandum submitted by the village Chief seeking CGI sheets, the Minister assured to take up the matter on priority basis. Relief items provided by the DA were distributed by the Minister and MLAs to all the fire victims. The DC assured to set up a temporary office at Barap under Lazu Circle wherein sufficient staff will be deployed under the supervision of EAC I/c. Lazu D.K. Thongdok for issuing ST, PRC, Aadhar card, birth certificate and other important documents. Helpline for donation will be operated by EAC (Jud.) over 8119069134 and by CO Jan Suvidha over 8837361009 wherein all well-wishers and liked-minded people can deposit their contributions at Jan Suvidha Bank A/C 30579795607 - SBIN0001584 –Branch SBI Khonsa. Screenshots of donations made to the Jan Suvidha Account may be mailed to CO  Jan Suvidha Ripi Doni over WhatsApp number 8837361009 for keeping record.

Meanwhile, DCM Chowna Mein has donated Rs. 15 lakh from his own behalf and MP Tapir Gao has announced Rs. 10 lakh for the procurement of relief materials. Mein also announced that the state government will sanction Rs. 50 lakh for the procurement of CGI sheets. As an immediate relief, local MLA Chakat Aboh donated 50 kg rice to each and 114 blankets to the fire victims. She also assured to initiate more help from the government. Tirap ZPC on behalf of her PRI colleagues donated Rs. 50,000 cash for the fire victims.
Chairperson, Care Me Home Welfare Society Sontung Bangsia who physically met the fire victims donated various essential items. DIPRO
