ANINI, Feb 1: Dibang Valley district celebrated its 53rd Reh festival with pomp and gaiety today here in the headquarters organised by Reh Celebration Committee 2021.
MLA Dirang-cum-Adviser, PWD Phurpa Tsering was the festival’s Chief Guest which was attended by MLA, Anini-cum-Chairman APEDA Mopi Mihu, Deputy Commissioner K.N Damo, Major General D.S Kushwah, SM, GOC 2 Mountain Division, Brigadier Deepak Gaur, 117 Mtn. Bde. and other dignitaries.
Tsering while extending his festival wishes also conveyed the one sent by the Chief Minister and appealed to the people of the district to support the hydropower projects for revenue generation and development. Mihu appealed to the people to celebrate Reh together and minimise the practice of celebrating it individually.
40 bikers of Royal Arunachal Riders (RAR), Siang Riders (SR) and Arunachal Bikers Club (ABC) who are part of the ‘Ride to Promote the Preservation of Tradition and Culture’ participated in the festival with the motto of promoting tourism in the district.
Adventure sports such as paragliding, hot air balloon, zip line, paint ball gun game, ATV riding etc. have also commenced as part of the festival and musicians from various districts have also arrived to participate. DIPRO
