ITANAGAR, Jul 15: After a gap of nearly two weeks, on Thursday, Arunachal’s recovery tally outnumbered the new cases. However, 2 deaths were also recorded that took the state’s Covid casualty count to 197.
Casualties
At DCH Chimpu, a 35-yr old female Covid patient from the ICC  died on Wednesday evening due to ARDS coupled with Covid pneumonia. She was not suffering from comorbidities and was not vaccinated.  An 84-yr old male Covid patient from East Siang died at his residence in Mirsam village due to Covid pneumonia also on Wednesday. 
He was suffering from comorbidities and was not inoculated with any of the doses.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Of the 367 new cases (asymptomatic 183; symptomatic 184), ICC retained  the top position  with 111 cases. East Siang (36), West Kameng( 28) and Lohit (25) followed next.  In West Siang cases have dropped to 13 from previous day’s to 20 (positivity rate after declining is now 6 %). A total of 369 recoveries were recorded  and the first 5 districts were ICC (62), East Siang (52), West Kameng (46), Lohit (31) and Upper Subansiri(26). The state’s active caseload has  now fallen to 4177 from the earlier day’s 4181.  37272  citizens have recovered so far and 5391 samples were collected in total from across the state of which 799 were from Changlang.
Vaccination
After inoculating 5970 beneficiaries under the '18 years and above' age category on the day with the 1st dose, the coverage percentage has increased to 59. 4397  also received their 2nd shots (12% coverage so far).
Occupancy status
Till 8 pm on July 15, it was 38 at DCH Chimpu, 43 at SQF Lekhi, 5 at DCHC Midpu, 8 at DCH Pasighat and 21 at DCHC.
