ITANAGAR, Jul 30: The state’s Covid situation saw a further improvement on Friday compared to the previous day with new recoveries surpassing fresh cases by more than 100. Casualty toll, however, increased to 226 with one more death.
Casualties
At DCHC Gayati Takka GH, a 65-yr old female Covid patient from Lower Subansiri expired on Thursday evening to ARDS with Covid pneumonia. She was suffering from diabetes and was not vaccinated with any of the doses.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
A total of 379 new cases (asymptomatic 206; symptomatic 173) were recorded with a maximum from the ICC (112 ; positivity rate 11 %). Lower Subansiri (35), Changlang (33), Papum Pare (28), Lohit & West Kameng (18 each) and Namsai, Upper Subansiri and West Siang (15 each) came next in a descending order of fresh cases.
Of the total of 488 new recoveries that took the state’s overall tally to 43488, the first 5 districts were ICC (130), Lower Subansiri (37), Papum Pare (35), Tawang (34) and East Siang (34). A total of 6182 samples were collected from across the state on the day, highest from the ICC (1020). The total number of Covid active patients in the state after declining from the previous day’s tally is now 4142.
Vaccination
Coverage percentage in the '18 years and above' age category reached 64 on Friday with 2655 beneficiaries taking their 1st jabs and with 2510 taking their 2nd jabs, the coverage has now reached 17 %.
Occupancy status
As of July 30 (8 pm), at DCH Chimpu it was 57, at SQF Lekhi 27, 1 at DCHC Midpu, 9 at DCH Pasighat and 23 at DCHC.
Containment Zones
The number of containment zones across the state in 14 districts has now declined to 58 and the total number of positive cases in such containment zones is now 1026.
