Avid readers in Lohit district has found new purpose altogether ever since the inception of 'Bhajan'” award, attributed to the reader-activist making an outstanding contribution towards promoting reading habits. Keshilu Tayang, a class 12 student from government higher secondary school, Tezu has been awarded the honor in its 4th edition. She has been an ace library activist since 2009, a delightful storyteller, singer, Keshilu, an alumna of Apna Vidya Bhavan, Wakro, has conducted many reading campaign sessions across Lohit and Anjaw and also exchanged a meet with late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
The ‘Bhajan’ award instituted in 2014, by a patron from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in memory of his parents, constitutes a cash prize of Rs.9000, merit certificate, and books.
Also introducing a new category, two other students Bethem Marai, Jeenamsi Ngadong have also been conferred with Sister Nivedita Award, sponsored by a library patron from Pune. Both awardees have rendered enthusiastic services for the smooth and regular functioning of library facilities at Tezu and earlier at Wakro since 2011.
Ranganatha Award for meritorious library services to student community has been awarded to Kamlesh Raut, Teacher, Apna Vidya Bhavan, volunteer APNE Library, Wakro.
