ITANAGAR, Oct 31: Along with the rest of the nation, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) which commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was observed here at the Raj Bhavan on Saturday.
Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and First Lady Neelam Misra along with the staff and officials of the Raj Bhavan participated in the function and paid floral tributes to the Iron Man of India. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor while recalling Sardar Patel’s contribution in the unification of India, urged the state’s people to imbibe his ideals and strive for reinforcing the spirit of unity and nationalism. Accompanied by the First Lady, his Commissioner Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, Raj Bhavan staff, officials and ITBP personnel, the Governor participated in the ‘Walk for Unity’ with the patriotic song ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’ being played at the background.
Later, the Governor administered the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ pledge to all present on the occasion. PRO Raj Bhavan
