ITANAGAR, May 30: Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Region,  Talo Potom, today confirmed that if Techi Puru and Tadak Nalo, do not surrender before the final deadline of the absconding order, their properties would be seized. The DC stated that the properties of both the Chairman and member of the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) have already been identified and no leniency will be shown to them unless they accept their "fault".
He further emphasized that there are laws in the country that everyone should abide by, and failure to do so will result in appropriate legal action being taken.
While speaking to the media, Potom also asserted that the government has already fulfilled the demands put forth by the aspirants. The appointment of the Chairman and Members for the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) was in progress, but the process was halted due to a group of individuals. The DC further stated that he does not consider them to be social activists since their actions are not in the interest of society.
"Public does not have any issues, but the examination of the APPSC is being delayed due to this particular group,' added the DC.
When asked about the arrest of the former Chairman of the APPSC, Nipo Nabam, DC Potom categorically stated that Nabam did not call for bandh. "Even investigative agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) require evidence to make an arrest; even the court needs substantial proof before taking any action," he said.
