ITANAGAR, Jan 17: The Nyishi Ethnic students of Arunachal Pradesh  (NESA) has strongly condemned the announcement of economic blockade by several Lekang based organisations seeking immediate granting of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) to few Non APST populace under Changlang.
In this connection, the NESA on Thursday carried out a massive protest rally demanding immediate rollback of the assurance given by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein to grant PRC to non-APST as new year gift and sought public apology from the duo.
Holding banners and shouting slogans, hundreds of people from all walks of life marched from Akashdeep to Tennis court, IG park.
Addressing the gathering, NESA president, Biri Chattum blamed the CM and DyCM for the series of ongoing movements in Lekang constituency by Non APST people including the economic blockade warning and  termed the demand for PRC as illogical when the state is protected under the Bengal Eastern  Frontier Regulation, 1873 Act. He also demanded immediate replacement of Deputy Commissioner Changlang for failing to initiate any concrete action against the ongoing stir in Lekang.
According to Chattum, CM and DyCM with their statements are trying to create misunderstanding and rift between the tribal and non-tribal populace which may also ignite communal tension in near future.
He further cautioned those provoking the PRC issue to gain political mileage and urged restraint as it may trigger law and order problem.
NESA further threatened to intensify their movement in the form of hunger strike, rallies and dharna.
