Gerukamukh, Jan 7: Foundation stone for commencement of Phase-III works of the NHPC Subansiri Lower HE Project which will cater to the downstream protection needs of Subansiri river was laid today here jointly by Minister of Panchayat & Rural Development, Cultural Affairs, Environment & Forest, Government of Assam Naba Kumar Doley and Member of Parliament, Lakhimpur LS constituency Pradan Barua.
With the laying of the foundation stone, works on the right bank of Subansiri adjacent to Tadang and Hekrajan villages and two work packages of 1 km each adjacent to Signori village in Bhimpara Pothar area will now commence having an estimated financial implication of approximately Rs. 35 crore. The total estimated cost of Phase-III works is approximately Rs. 175 crore.
NHPC Executive Director Arvind Bhat and General Manager (In-charge), Subansiri Lower HE Project Vipin Gupta were present during the ceremony.
