Doimukh, Dec 14: In a challenging rescue operation here on Dikrong river along the Sopo picnic point on Sunday night, a team of 12 NDRF managed to pull out seven stranded persons to safety.
All the stranded persons namely Samsul Ali (27), Techi Fek (28), Chiging Yube (28), Kime Kano (27), Biri Akumi (24), Bita Doley (24) and Takam Dassar (24) trapped in the middle of a swift and strong current of Dikrong at around 1930 hrs were safely evacuated by the NDRF team after persistent efforts. 
The team reached the incident site immediately after being informed by OC Doimukh PS and pressed into service motorized boats and rope rescue items which pulled out the stranded persons out of danger.
The rescue team comprising 19 NDRF personnel was led by DC Brijesh Upadhayay and assisted by AC Mahendar Singh and Insp/GD Santosh Kumar under overall supervision of Commandant Rajesh Thakur. The NDRF team was appreciated by the family members of the victims and locals.
