PASIGHAT, Oct 3: Prominent academician Tayor Ketan breathed his last this morning at his private residence at Pangkeng village under Jomlo circle, Siang district. He is survived by two sons and three daughters.
Born on 5th February, 1934 at Rumgong village, Siang district, Tayor was son of Tamer Ketan (father) and Yadi Komut Ketan (mother). He studied in present day Aalo and later joined as teacher during 1955. He served as a first generation teacher of NEFA days and took Voluntary Retirement from Service (VRS) in 1985. After VRS, Tayor served the people as ZPM and is known for massive development in his native village.
He was father of Chief Engineer (Hydropower) Er. Along Ketan and retired DCSO Tagom Ketan. Among others, retired Chief Secretary Tabom Bam, IAS, former Vice Chancellor, RGU Prof. Tamo Mibang, former minister Tamiyo Taga and many other prominent personalities were his students. DIPRO
