ANINI, Feb 12: As part of the project titled ‘Land Resource Inventory of Arunachal Pradesh’ undertaken jointly by National Bureau of Soil Survey (NBSS) and Land Use Planning (LUP), North Eastern Regional Centre, Jorhat which aims to determine the micronutrient content in the state’s soil, evaluation activities by means of geospatial techniques have commenced from February 3 last in Aipido village under Anini-Mipi CD Block of Dibang Valley district.
The project team headed by DAO Tadak Dabi along with the officials of the Department of Agriculture will continue their activities in the Block. 15 quintals of soil samples from the various locations of the district will be collected and dispatched to Regional Centre, Jorhat for necessary analysis of important parameters viz. PH, EC, OC, NPK and other micronutrient content by soil profile sampling method which will provide more detailed and accurate data compared to the grid soil sampling method used normally. The report so obtained will then be sent to the Director Agriculture for further planning and action.
The NBSS and LUP team is also conducting similar activities in other districts of the state in coordination with the State Department of Agriculture which is a step towards scientific planning and soil management in Arunachal Pradesh. DIPRO
