LEKHI, Jul 21: Progressive farmer, Likha Maj distributed 1000kg of seedless Thai lemons to Lekhi quarantine facility on Tuesday in order to help front line workers and COVID-19 positive patients kept at facility to increase their immunity.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary, Naresh Kumar, Health Secretary, P Parthiban and other officers from the health department.
Interacting with media, CS, Naresh Kumar while appreciating  Maj for the generous donation said that lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C which would help frontline workers and COVID-19 patients to enhance their immune system.
"I am truly delighted that I am able to provide lemons for the healthcare workers as they continue their tireless fight against Coronavirus. I will deliver more in the coming days if needed," Maj said. Maj who grows Thai origin Seedless Lemon on a 200 hectare orchard having more than 1 lakh lemon trees at Tarajuli asked people to start  "kitchen and home gardening" as a recreational activity during this pandemic and become self-reliant.

He further underlined that everyone should come forward and play a role in helping the state government to tide over the unprecedented health crisis.
