ITANAGAR, Jan 3: The state press fraternity has deeply mourned the demise of Kameju Ningee, father of The Hindusthan Samachar reporter, Tagu Ningee, who passed away peacefully at his Hollongi residence during the wee hours of January 1.
Coincidentally, Late Ningee, was born exactly hundred years earlier on 01 January 1920, at Changha Village (near upper Hollongi Village).
Late Ningee in his youth had actively participated in the Quit India Movement agitations in 1942 at Gohpur, Assam alongside freedom fighters from Assam, Late Kanaklata Borua and Late Mukunda Kakoty, who were shot dead during the agitation by a British police officer stationed at Gohpur, Assam.
Members of the Arunachal Press Club, Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists and the Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association, stand with the bereaved Ningee family at this hour of grief and pray for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Late Ningee’s mortal remains were laid to rest today with full indigenous rituals and honour at his Hollongi residence. He is survived by his wife, seven sons, three daughters and several grand children. Newsdesk
