ITANAGAR, Jan 13: In view of the upcoming Swachhta Pakhwada, the fortnight-long cleanliness initiative of the Central government which will be conducted from January 15-31, Director, Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Itanagar Dr.  Keshavamurthy today reviewed the preparedness of various field offices through videoconferencing.
Preparations of the field offices in Tawang, Bomdila, Pasighat, Along and Tezu were reviewed and the stakeholders were advised to use the social media platforms extensively for propagating the messages on Swachhta, COVID safety etc. Staff of the regional office and field units took part in the videoconferencing to update themselves about the activities to be undertaken. The Regional Outreach Bureau which is under the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will be observing the cleanliness fortnight as per guidelines issued by the Central government. A number of activities beginning with ‘Swachhta Pakhwada Hi Seva’ pledge on January 15 followed by 'Shramdhan' at the office-cum-residential complex and nearby areas will be organized. Outreach programmes on plastic waste management for reducing Single Use Plastic like plates, cups, folders will be undertaken. IEC activities for dissemination of information on better hygiene related to COVID-19, sanitation of office including disposal of old and broken furniture, equipment and files will also be taken up.
Twin webinars on ‘Swachhta’ and ‘Covid vaccine rollout and Covid safety measures’ will be held. In addition, various other media units like the AIR and DDK will be conducting various awareness activities.
