ITANAGAR, Feb 17: Adviser, Planning & Investment and RWD, Jambey Tashi today while speaking at the maiden Zonal pre-budget consultative meeting with the CBOs, representatives from Chambers of Commerce, RGU and other bodies here at the DK Convention Hall urged the stakeholders to submit feedback which will serve as inputs for preparation of 3-4 years Master Plans for comprehensive development of every sector.
While stating that devolution of Central share has been reduced and the state has received Rs 6580 crores and is expecting Rs 8842 crores soon, Tashi informed that despite the reduction which has affected the state’s financial situation at large, the backlog of Rs 1900 crores created during the last financial year has been cleared during SIDF. “Rs 400 crore has been allocated to upgrade health infrastructure, PRI and execution of the four-lane highway is going on in war footing. Potin-Pangin stretch has been tendered and all-weather roads in every district headquarters is in the pipeline,” the P&I and RWD Adviser divulged.
Speaking on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swavalamban Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojana, he said that 213 young entrepreneurs have already reaped their benefits. Briefing on the districts’ power scenario, Tashi emphasized the need for implementing small and micro hydel power projects on a mission mode. Judicious use of funds is the base of development and PRIs and CBOs may be included in the monitoring committees, he opined while suggesting discussions on unused and defunct government buildings like tourist lodges and cafeterias on a priority basis. “Sectors like agriculture, horticulture, tourism, youth empowerment and fisheries need to be emboldened and boosted, Tashi asserted.
