ROING, Dec 5: A consultative meeting in connection with the conduct of PR elections in the district was held with all the political parties and CBOs of the district here today under the chairmanship of DC cum DEO, KN Damo here at the DC’s conference hall.
The meeting was attended by Election Observer CR Khampa, SP JK Lego, ADC Dambuk, SDO cum DPDO, Roing, all ROs and AROs of the district, representatives of the political parties and the CBOs.
While welcoming the gathering, the DC cum DEO emphasized on the importance of conduct of free and fair elections and sought cooperation from the political parties and CBOs for the peaceful conduct of the PR election in the district. He urged the political parties to take the election process in a sporting way and campaign by abiding to the MCC guidelines issued by the SEC and Covid-19 SOP issued by the health department.
The DEO also warned the political parties that transportation of any kind of liquor and cash inflow in the name of election shall be seized and dealt with as per relevant provisions of the law.
He further informed the gathering of formation of three tier Panchayati Raj surveillance team to monitor the implementation of MCC and Covid 19 SOP at the district, circle and village level.
The representatives of the political parties and CBOs also spoke on the occasion and offered their suggestions. DIPRO
