HAWAI, Oct 14: A day after the report on disruption of electricity for one year in Manchal Circle of Anjaw district was published by this daily, Department of Power, Hayuliang Division swung into action and resumed restoration works to restore supply of electricity in the area.
Informing about the restoration works undertaken, EE Taduram Darang said: “Vast networks of 33 KV, 11 KV and LT lines along with other infrastructure have been created under RGGVY, DDUGJY and Saubhagya schemes in Anjaw district over the years, but not a single post of additional W/C and casual staff has been created to look after these huge number of assets.” “Due to the tough and hilly terrain the 33 KV and 11 KV lines are prone to damages by landslides, rock and tree felling during rainy days. With disproportionately low manpower and fund constraints, the Hayuliang Electrical Division is finding it practically very difficult and challenging to maintain these assets,” the EE said.
However, he assured that despite the on-ground problems the Department is trying its best to provide steady power supply to the consumers of the district and by November next, electricity supply will be restored in Manchal Circle.
