Itanagar, Sep 16: The Deputy Commissioner Capital, Talo Potom convened a meeting with the members of the Arunachal Pradesh Christian revival church council (APCRCC) and Nyishi Baptist church council (NBCC) today and sought their cooperation in creating awareness on drug menace. He informed that the District Administration has been conducting awareness camp  on a mission mode but to make the state drug free, collective effort from all section of society is required.
He informed about the many initiatives that have been taken by the State Government for drug de- addiction and rehabilitation.
State Nodal Officer cum Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, Oli Koyu said that social acceptance of a drug addict is the most important thing to help a person recover. He said that drug addiction is a disease which can be cured but it is important not to stigmatise them. As the percentage of relapse is found to be higher, he said it is necessary to urge parents and guardians  to provide all the required support to those under rehabilitation or recovery.
With the digital era, Koyu also said it is important for the parents to devote more time to their children and to constantly monitor them especially teens who are in the most vulnerable age group. 
The representatives of APCRCC and NBCC extended their full cooperation and also informed about the initiatives that have been taken from their end to stop the drug menace.
During the meeting, the DC also informed about the proposed Artificial Limb Fitment Assessment camp for Divyangjan at Itanagar which will be held free of cost by a Non Government Organization namely Shree Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata  Samiti (BMVSS), Jaipur in collaboration with District Administration Itanagar Capital Complex and Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Department. He sought their cooperation in generating information about the camp so that many beneficiaries can avail the benefit of the camp. 
Those willing to avail the services of the camp may submit their application in prescribed format to DC office by 1st October 2021. The form may downloaded from www.Itanagar.nic.in.
