Itanagar, Dec 15: The Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2022-23 for Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district, prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), was released by district Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav during the District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting at Changlang on Wednesday.
The total credit potential under the priority sector has been estimated at Rs 2537.59 lakh for the financial year 2022-23 of which agriculture sector accounts for Rs 2146.39 lakh, District Development Manager (DDM) of NABARD Kamal Roy informed. PLP is a comprehensive documentation of potentials in the district for rural economic activities, both in physical and financial terms. It is also an assessment of the gaps in infrastructure support, which needs to be filled in to fully exploit the realizable potentials.
The objectives of PLPs are to enable the various organizations involved in the process of rural development in directing their efforts in a planned manner, in accordance with the potentials available for exploitation, to enable optimum utilization of scarce financial resources (specifically bank credit) by channeling the same into sectors with growth potential, Roy said.
The DCC/DLRC (District Level Review cum Consultative Committee) meeting convened by SBI’s Lead Bank was attended by the DC, DPO, Admin Officers, LDM, DDM NABARD, PD CCRMS, branch managers (BMs) of banks and officials of line departments.
Chief Manager, Lead Bank Tankeswar Doley shared the status of CD ratio in the district which is 23.26% for quarter ended September 2021. Expressing concern over the low CD ratio in the district, the DC advised Agriculture and Horticulture departments to mobilize the proposals under the State’s own Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana and Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana and apply for subsidy on time. When the DDM NABARD told that a special drive was launched w.e.f 1st June 2020 by GOI to provide KCC to farmers, with special focus on PM-Kisan beneficiaries, animal husbandry farmers and fishermen, the DC advised the Veterinary and Fisheries Deptts to mobilize proposals under this scheme, official sources said here.
