PASIGHAT, Sep 26: Along with rest of the country, East Siang Women and Child Development Department (WCD) is also celebrating Rastriya Poshan Maah taking up various activities towards successful implementation of the nation-wide mega mission with an aim of reaching every household with the message, “Har Ghar Poshan Tyohar”.
A project level ‘Recipe Competition’ was conducted on Saturday at the Pasighat Daying Ering Memorial Higher Secondary School auditorium by the Pasighat CDPO Onyok Panyang. Machi Gao, DD (ICDS) along with the panel of Nutritionist from Health and Family Welfare Department and experts/scientists from College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat took part as judges in the recipe competition.
Dy Director (ICDS) Gao appreciated the participants for taking part in the competition and advised them to follow the tips and ideas shared by Judges. She also spoke on importance of Nutri Garden in Anganwadi centres adding that Poshan Maah was a part of Poshan Abhiyan, a national flagship programme for holistic nourishment, aiming to achieve improvement in the nutritional status of children from 0-6 yrs, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers in a time bound manner. She also highlighted the importance of locally available resources to gain maximum nutrition with low cost recipe and high productive of nutrients etc.
Similar recipe competitions were also organized at Ruksin and Nari on Friday by the CDPOs. DD (ICDS) Machi Gao attended the programs and distributed ‘Nutri Basket’ to the preschool children, pregnant and lactating mothers. (DIPRO)
