TEZU, Jul 6:In yet another major breakthrough, the Lohit Police has apprehended three drug peddlers from different locations of the township. With this arrest around six drug peddlers were nabbed red-handed by the police in the month of June and July busting the rampant illegal drug racket being operated in the district. 


A team of police accompanied by Town Magistrate Lui Shiba and GS All Mishmi Women Welfare Society (AMWWS) Shibali Tayang conducted a raid at Mekaliang after receiving information on Wednesday and arrested Arulum Tindya (29) the alleged person. 
On the same day at Tamlanagar Kri building two women Oyin Pertin (24) and Badenglu Tamai (20) were arrested by the police.

The Police also seized cash amount and suspected 20 packets of Brown Sugar weighing about 6 grams approximately from both women. 
Meanwhile, the Police are interrogating the arrested peddlers and tightening its noose on its network. Vigilance has been stepped up to check the illegal trade.

A case has been registered under section 21 (b) of NDPS Act 1985 and the arrestees are on a 10 day judicial remand.
